I was gifted a lovely tablecloth from my Godmothers Mum who had sadly passed away. I wanted to turn the unused but full of memories tablecloth into a special gift.

So (with permission) I cut up the pieces to highlight the talented embroidery work and patchworked them onto hand dyed purple fabric to create a large comforting cushion! It was very nerve racking working with something so special and one-of-a-kind, as if I cut something wrong I didn’t have back-up fabric!
I used the entire tablecloth as I  wanted to show off the skilled embroidery work in a considerate way. I love upcycling something that you couldn’t possibly throw away but instead, making it into something more modern and practical.
It was finished off with a cushion insert and Poppy posed for me! (She wasn’t allowed too but she looked too cute to say no)
